The Lakes, the surrounding hills, and of course our magnificent property, are all alive with new growth and activity. Weddings Everyone loves a good wedding, and we've had the privilege to host quite a few in 2009. In fact, McMillans is earning a reputation as one of the State's most beautiful wedding venues. All our weddings are set underneath our 'wedding tree', a gorgeous eucalypt that frames the wedding party with a spectacular view of Bancroft Bay in the background. In collaboration with The Metung Galley, McMillans also plays host to superb wedding receptions that are staged in a large marquee that sits between our native wetland and Bancroft Bay. Felicity and Richard prepare a divine menu, and local florists decorate the marquee from top to bottom. On these occasions our wedding guests book out the resort, creating the perfect environment for a beautiful and intimate event. New playground As we run headlong into Spring over a holiday period that has had McMillans buzzing, our younger guests became the first to enjoy McMillans new playground. While the old swings served their purpose well, we're thrilled to add this new facility to the heart of the property. Mums and Dads love the safety and proximity of the playground to many of the cottages and villas. Herald Sun For any readers of the Herald Sun, you may have recently read a couple of articles about McMillans. We appeared in last Friday's Travel section after welcoming journalist Megan Miller to McMillans. She experienced the McMillans Cooking Skills package which included a highly enjoyable session with Culinaire Cooking School just down the road. Read Megan's article here. 'Victoria 101' Another article about McMillans featured in the Sunday Herald Sun as part of the RACV's 'Victoria 101' promotion that is establishing a list of Victoria's 101 Best Places to Stay. This promotion concludes on October 8, and this is where we have a special favour to ask of you.
